The Pentax K-7 by Pentax is one of the best Mid-size SLR cameras money can buy. First introduced on 2009-10-02, the best-selling Pentax camera is still up-to-date and full of enhancements. Speaking of low light, the Pentax K-7 features an ISO range of 100-2,000 (or 6400 in Boosted mode) and continuous shooting at 5.0 fps - both upstanding params for a camera in this class. Based around the Pentax Pentax KAF2, the Pentax K-7 is compatible with a huge range of lenses dating back to 1975. 100% viewfinder coverage was allowing you to see more of your shooting object in the versatile Optical (pentaprism) viewfinder. Confirm image capture and view menu options, histograms, video settings and more using the new, remarkable, solid 3″-inch 921k dots LCD screen with 100% coverage. This is an important addition to the Pentax K-7 easy to use 5.0 fps continuous shooting via the use of Fast Priority Continuous mode, which is very useful.
An improved 11- point AF system with Unknown Cross Type AF sensors, superb AF area modes and fantastic AF detection in even the dimmest lighting deliver immediate, sharp focus. The camera works with D-LI90 batteries, which has enough for 980 shots. Video-wise, you can record Motion JPEG videos at 1280 x 720 (30 fps), 1536 x 1024 (30 fps), 640 x 480 (30 fps), 320 x 240 (30 fps). You can navigate through the camera's settings and extraordinary features on its sharp 3″-inch LCD. Other key bits of the camera includes a rich set of connectivity settings and easy controls. The easy, marvelous and stylish design makes Pentax K-7 operation a thing of beauty. In my experience, the battery life, even with High-Performance mode enabled, seemed better than the rated battery life, but an extra battery is still a good idea. The camera's weight (750g) is very optimal, so it's good for people traveling a lot, for studio and other occasions. The camera is a top-grade choice if you want to shoot eye-popping portraits, tourism, and interesting sports photos. With the Pentax K-7, Pentax has completely revised the internals, adding the stacked-CMOS 15 megapixels sensor and 3″ Fixed Type TFT color LCD with AR coating. When set to its lowest ISO 100 setting, the camera delivers extremely versatile, high-quality images that surpass almost anything else at its price point. Pentax K-7 has a Pentax KAF2 lens mount, and currently, there are 144 native lenses available.

Overall
Overall, from macro to portraits, nature to wildlife, the camera excels, offers excellent photos quality, ultimate features, and the ability to enjoy the versatile options of various types of Pentax KAF2 mount lens. Besides, if it works consistently in a wide range of real-world shooting situations (sports, portraits or commercial), and with the majority of well-known Pentax lenses, then we think Pentax K-7 could well be on to a winner. The upgraded 15 megapixels CMOS sensor delivers very stunningly, pleasing colors. Colors are accurate and marvelous without being oversaturated. Besides, it's worth noting that it comes with a fresh selection of original accessories, which can expand its capabilities even further. The front grip is very small, although the material is textured which helps keep a good hold on the camera, I do wish that the grip was a bit bigger. Lastly, while it may look like just another Mid-size SLR, Pentax has packed a considerable number of firsts inside the Pentax K-7 modern camera body. For this price, you’d expect Pentax to deliver a reliable, robust, ergonomically sound and versatile camera, and with the Pentax K-7 that’s precisely what you get.
